How does one gracefully accept the limits of age without conceding too much, without giving up too early, without creating unnecessary limitations of the mind or body?
By staying open: open to real limits; open to real capabilities; open to reachable possibilities.
Account for your age by forgetting about it. Look only at your capabilities and your limits – as of today. When you’re sick, you might feel as capable as an 80 year old man. When healthy and rested, like a 40 year old. The actual date-less-birthdate calculation matters not so much.
Yes, you do encounter limitations. We all do. Acknowledge them – not as elements of age: rather as an assessment of your capabilities –as of today, as of now.
It’s the only calculation that truly matters.
