The older I get, the more I have to patch myself up. A little Physical Therapy here, a light surgery there, a new regimen for diet or exercise. Stronger hearing aids, another molar crown, new glasses – but wait, my eye sight numbers are ironically getting better as I age … if it weren’t for the increase in floaters that make it seem like I’m navigating through an asteroid belt. And you KNOW how annoying that is!
Gracefully or otherwise, I have accepted my condition and abandoned any attempts at lamentation and appeasement. This is the “new normal.” In a way, I guess it’s always been: encounter limitation, work your way around it.
Keep engaged. Keep going. Don’t let it – whatever it is for this day or this moment – get you down, slow you down.
Patching myself up, and moving on. Or more expeditiously stated, “Patch & Go.”
