We’re not on a line, let alone a straight one. Slice it up into little sections, little pieces. That’s more like it. Pauses that are real. Times that are full of awareness. Glimpses — a beautiful girl passing in the street, bringing a fleeting excitement. Some, a little longer, like ducking for shelter in the rain. A tree, a cafe, a few minutes of peace, of sharing, of whatever makes it special for you.
We have only moments. The line of life is really only a series of segments, of moments, all generally arranged in the direction of your character.
Moments that are fun, enjoyable, satisfying, rewarding, stimulating, sensual, powerful … like when you know memories are being made.
The goal is to have as many of those memorable moments as we can. Jump for them!
Forget waiting for next year’s vacation, or retirement when you feel old and left out. Forget waiting for tomorrow, or the weekend. Find your moments now, wherever, whenever you can.
