Investors and holders of capital will make millions. The rest of us will go broke.
Management promotes the most incompetent. The rest of us do the work.
Politicians take the money without getting the job done. The rest of us pay the taxes and try to avoid the unfilled potholes.
Sometimes life seems like an existential comedy, with amusing characters and bizarre situations. It’s even more funny because it’s true! “You can’t make this stuff up!”
A hawkish gun supporter shoots his friend – a lawyer – in the face. A political aspirant dances to an unfamiliar tune as he attempts to reverse his position on healthcare. A celebrity marries her ex-husband, again. Thousands of citizens buy low flow toilets to save water during a drought, while an oilman pumps billions of gallons into a well to frack out his profit. An entrepreneur – unaware of his pure luck – sells his unlaunched company for millions.
It’s not as if we can change the larger picture. You can either laugh at this vaudeville or cry. Take your pick.
I’d rather be laughing!
